Sony Vaio VPC-EH1M1E Notebook Review

The new Sony Vaio laptop series EH1M1E VPC-E has an unusual design, based primarily on their undulating surfaces. The honeycomb pattern is divided into small triangles and very reminiscent of mother of pearl, at least in the white version of the VPC-EH1M1E.

This type of cell seems also very good in the dark, as we saw with the Sony Vaio PCV-CB2S1E. The Vaio Vaio VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 is designed as a portable universal, suitable for Internet use and office and watch videos or play games.

The road has an Intel Core i3-2310M, a generation of entry-level processors after the bridge of sand, which is also equipped with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 500 GB hard disk for graphics tasks, VPC -EH1M1E/W.G4 Vaio has a dedicated graphics card Nvidia GeForce 410M, that 1024 video memory available. Role of integrated graphics processor is not used in this model.

The glossy 15.5-inch HD screen that can display a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels (XGA), 16:9. The book costs less than $ 600 and weighs 2700 grams, with dimensions of 31.3 x 369.9 x 248.4 mm. Sony also offers an alternative model, the Vaio PCV-EH1L8E, working without dedicated graphics card. This model is about 20 euros cheaper. Perhaps a graphic solution for nothing if it only costs 20 euros more?

Case
The honeycomb pattern of extravagant VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 immediately captures your attention. If you want to light, the reflection surface, as if made of nacre. But appearances can be deceiving, in fact, the only shiny plastic surfaces. Fingerprints and dust just run all over the white surface. But is design of all Sony Vaio has to offer? The answer is "no".

There can be no complaints about the quality of construction, we did not find anything serious to challenge. The lid of the white screen is easy to open, even if the base is not fired her. It is not possible - at least with this new machine - to open with one hand because the hinges are tight.

The advantage of this is that once the display to remain in the desired position, when you set it, and do not move at all. The entire display, just under an inch thick, is very robust. Even when we used a lot of pressure, we were not able to bend or press the screen behind. Sony Vaio basic unit appears to be just as robust.

With the laptop open, intelligent display a keyboard that is a good match for the rest of the design and a touchpad built into the rest area of the palms. The case design and VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 Vaio screen are identical to those of the VPC-EH1L8E / W.

Connections
When he came to connectivity, Sony focused on the essentials. Although VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 comes with four USB ports are still USB 2.0, those looking for a USB 3.0 or eSATA / USB combo port will be disappointed. There are two gates to control external monitors: one HDMI and one VGA port. Both are stationed on the left side. On the right side of the laptop has a DVD burner is included, which can also double layer recording media.

The rest of the RJ45 port is a Gigabit LAN port, two audio ports and two card readers on the front of the laptop. It is true that two card readers, one for the company's own MS / MS Pro / MS Duo flash memory cards and a SD / MMC.

Communication
Sony Vaio offers several options to connect to the network and the Internet. One is the classic way through the cable network, and the second is a wireless version of the wireless LAN. Bluetooth 3.0 + HS is also integrated.

A special feature is that the Sony Vaio VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 interface "QuickWeb", which can be started regardless of the operating system. There is a separate button on this laptop, and starts a few seconds QuickWeb is pressed. QuickWeb with you to start quickly and easily browse the Internet, read or write an e-mail or watch video clips on YouTube. But you do not have access to the internal hard disk or data in Outlook.

Security
Vaio VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 not have much to offer in terms of safety. McAfee Internet Security pre-installed anti-virus and Internet security. To take full advantage of this you need to register at McAfee, but since this is only a 30-day trial. Not hardware-based security mechanisms, Vaio, like a fingerprint sensor, for example. Notebook BIOS can be password protected, but that's it.

Accessories
The AC adapter is the only thing that comes with this laptop for 600 euros. The only print a few leaflets and advice. The operating system is 64-bit Windows 7 Professional, which is a hidden recovery partition.

Warranty
Warranty period is 12 months, renewable for one year with extended warranty VAIO, and the cost is 99 euros. If you want a 2-year extension will cost you € 236.

Optional accessories
Accessories listed on Sony's Home is a high performance battery (89 Wh / 7950 mAh) and a hefty $ 200, a charger parts for 99 euros (!) Both the large number of mice, keyboards, and bags.

Display
15.5-inch Vaio VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 HD monitors. Like all lifestyle products, is clear. Several surface shiny side of the screen is its tendency to take ideas, or his own image reflected in you. In all, the notebook is used, you see yourself and the environment is reflected in the display, also to facilitate some reflections' in dark rooms or at night.

The panel has a resolution of 1366 x 768 and 16:9. As well as built-in display, you can connect additional monitors using the VGA or HDMI. HDMI external resolution is 2560 x 1600 is possible, through the VGA port is "only" 2048 x 1536.

The black level was measured was 1.36 cd / m², which gives a contrast ratio of 165:1 of the poor. The colors on the HD screen is not very intense, but the black looks a bit gray. The measured color space is not suitable for professional work (image editing, graphics, etc.). As shown in the screenshots, the color space of the Vaio is not even close to covering the color space sRGB reference, for example.

According to our measurements, the LED backlight has a maximum brightness of 262 cd / m², which is a good average of 229.6 cd / m². Distribution of brightness was above 93%.

For outdoor use, the user is in a battle between the reflections and visibility because of the glossy screen. Some sunlight is all it takes to make the contents of the HD display indistinguishable. Even in a lovely shaded garden, we were at the forefront of the cover toward the front more often than we would if we wanted to see something.

In the shadow, then we had the old problem of reflections from the user and his environment. The display does a good mirror - you can always see what is going on behind - but it means that the Vaio is barely useable outdoors.

The screen has a high gloss on the weaknesses, this time to do with viewing angles. If you sit in front of the screen dead on the contrast and color quality very good. Even when you look aside, the quality does not decrease.

But if the screen is tilted forward or backward, the good times are over. When the screen is tilted back, the contrast of the image, and leans forward when the image turns white until it is unrecognizable. With a horizontal displacement of the reproduced image is still easily recognizable. These effects are increased if you want to view the content of the screen on the side.

Performance
"Engine" is a Sony Vaio Intel Core i3 2310 m. This is not equipped with a Turbo Boost, unlike models i5 and i7, but the Intel Core i3 2310 m may use the same Hyper-Threading. This doubles the number of threads that the processor can be used at one time 2-4. Processor speed is 2.1 GHz base.

The two processor cores share 3 MB L3 cache. The integrated memory controller has two channels available RAM and supports DDR3-1066 and 1333. This produces a theoretical maximum bandwidth of the memory of 21.3 GB / s.

Intel Core i3 2310M is made with 32 nm process and has a maximum TDP of 35 watts. The 2310M is mainly used for laptops in the budget office and multimedia classroom where the processor is gaining favor with its attractive price to performance.

With DPC Latency Checker test program for us potential latency issues with the ports, which can lead to synchronization problems for external devices. As shown in the screenshot, led many of our treatments on the cob red, which means that there may be some limitations in the audio and visual areas in particular.

CPU performance
We tested the performance of the Core i3 2310 m with Cinebench R10 will make its program (32 - and 64-bit) and R11.5 (32 - and 64-bit) versions. In single-core Cinebench R10 test, the CPU scored 2762 points (32 bit) and 3452 points (64 bits).

Compared to the dozens of other notebooks which was also an Intel Core i3-2310 m processor, these results are the average Indian place you'd expect, like the Fujitsu Lifebook AH531, or for example, the Dell Inspiron 15R.

The results were similar to R11.5 Cinebench test. In this, the Sony VAIO-EH1M1EW.G4 placed 2.02 points on the straight path of Core i3 2310 m, and also the same point score of two laptops are used in the comparison (and the Fujitsu Lifebook AH531 Dell Inspiron 15R).

In PC Mark Vantage test Vaio laptop earned 5392 points, which is still the same as Fujitsu Lifebook AH531. If you look at all the notebooks we tested with this processor, do not poorly Vaio, sitting just below average.

In PC Mark 7 reference Vaio laptop was really down a notch or two. PC Mark 1536 score of 7 was significantly less than the Fujitsu Lifebook AH531 (1910 points) or the Fujitsu Lifebook LH531 (1855 points). Among other things, the poor mass memory speed used here has a role to play in the outcome.

GPU performance
HD 3000 graphics card is integrated into the CPU is not used for Vaio. It can not be activated as an option, either the BIOS or Windows. Instead, the entry-level NVIDIA graphics card work in the Vaio. Sony has gone Geforce 410M in this case. GF119 is based on the chip is also used in GeForce 520 However, Geforce 410M is greatly reduced version.

The Geforce 410M allows operation much more than the Intel integrated graphics. It also has the advantage of being compatible with DirectX 11. HD integrated graphics is not that. Also, the NVIDIA GPU works with 48 cores and compatible with Nvidia's CUDA, PureVideo Technolgies and HybridPower.

This is particularly evident in the graphic organizers. In these GPU for notebook Vaio scored 10029 points in 3D Mark 03, 7538 points on 3D Mark 05 and 3D Mark 4501 points out of 06th in the most recent benchmark 3D Mark 11, Vaio got 477 points.

Comparison 1: The HD 3000 integrated graphics solution from Intel obtained the following average scores on these benchmarks: 3D Mark 03: 8900 (-11% compared to the Geforce 410M), 3D Mark 05: 6715.4 (10%) and 3D Mark 06: 3584.2 (- 20%). As for 3D Mark 11: Integrated graphics into the CPU is not compatible with DirectX 11, and so the benchmark can not run it.

Comparison 2: Nvidia Geforce 520M received the following scores on average in these benchmarks: 3D Mark 03: 12.678 (26% compared to the Geforce 410M), 3D Mark 05: 9041.8 (20%), 3D Mark 06: 5018.3 (+11%), 3D Mark 11: currently no data available for comparison.

More data and test results of mobile graphics cards can be found in our reference table of all previously tested notebooks. Portable hard drive used in this series from Sony is one of the Seagate Momentus 5400. ST9500325AS Seagate offers a storage capacity of 500 GB and a speed of 5,400 rpm.

This is a clear impact on our results: an average transfer rate, measured with HD Tune, was only 61 MB / s when we tested. Burst is 81 MB / sec CPU load of 3.8%. These figures are acceptable at 5400-rpm hard drive.

If a hard drive with a speed of 7200 rpm, or even an SSD drive (for example, OCZ Agility 3) was installed, it would not only significantly speed up the system, but also produce better results in these benchmarks . But then the laptop would be very expensive.

Lenovo ThinkPad L420 NYV4UGE Notebook Review

Clerical small. According to Lenovo, it is the introduction of a laptop that is to save time and money with ThinkPad L420. We L420 ThinkPad with an Intel Core i5-2520m with its processor speed.

Lenovo offers a low-cost access to industry on 14-inch ThinkPad notebooks L420. The ThinkPad L420 is already available for € 664 in the smallest configuration. We took a look at the version a little stronger at € 899. In addition to a faster processor and more memory capacity, our model has a UMTS module. The model configuration is only low UMTS loan. As appropriate for a ThinkPad, L420 obviously has a matte screen.

As expected, stringent requirements are placed on a ThinkPad ThinkPad Lenovo have there is a very good reputation in business. We cons-examine the budget ThinkPad L420 thoroughly and see how it fares.ces.

Case
The Lenovo L420 was fitted in the case of the normal custom ThinkPad. The case of angular surfaces Matt make a strong impression and are not sensitive to fingerprints. We have seen in the case of L412 Lenovo Thinkpad laptop. The design is not fancy, but functional. Many users still see the design of the ThinkPad and the reference design for the office laptops.

Lenovo uses the cover design of light in the L420. However, the brackets that hold the lid closed are omitted. The screen is connected to the box with metal hinges. Depends in a very good print quality and high. Have also been adjusted so that the laptop can be easily opened with one hand. However, keeping the screen in place. Flashes do not just look at all.

The laptop is still very strong when it opens. Wherever we look, plastic mat is used everywhere. Rates laptop, as in our pressure testing. The wrist rests are as stable as the palm rest can get. They do not give an inch. The keyboard is not as stable as the other cases. However, such trivialities are not alone. You must apply great pressure on a key on the keyboard before it returns.

Connections
The Lenovo L420 has little to offer in terms of connectivity. Four USB ports are installed and the ports can be directed outward through the docking station. Unfortunately, Lenovo does not install all USB 3.0 ports. Instead, there is at least one port eSATA (combined with USB 2.0). Therefore, external hard drives can quickly connect to the laptop.

As usual, a VGA output is available for analog video output. However, Lenovo has also built a display port. If you do not have a screen or a projector with a DisplayPort interface, you will need to purchase an additional adapter.

In particular, we must remember the door to the left of the gate a critical investment. Mancini does not feel very comfortable and the network cable connected to an external monitor, if the external mouse is connected. You need to take a closer look for if you want to anchor a large extent prevents the cable mess on the table. They are the perfect solution to naturally clean up the desk.

Display
14-inch display with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels is used. Aspect ratio is so common these days, 16:9. Fortunately, Lenovo will be used without the display. So, nothing should prevent and outdoor use, if the brightness is sufficient.

According to our measurements, the brightness of 196.9 cd/m2 half. Compared to other laptops currently on the market, the L420 ThinkPad can not score here. Even the cheapest laptops can often take the course of 200 cd/m2. The backlight can also be a little more homogeneous. This is rather poor in the ThinkPad L420 with 83 percent. However, these differences in the brightness of the screen is not visible to the naked eye.

The display can not score its value in black and contrast that results, either. The value of 1.36 cd/m2 black is clearly too high. Normally the black values of less than 1.0 cd/m2 be desirable. The contrast is also suffering because of the high black. Only in the ThinkPad L420 157:1 and also be called mediocre.

It should become clear later that Lenovo has not installed a special screen made of high quality. Lenovo L420 monitor can only reproduce a small part of the sRGB color space. The scope of laptop is absolutely no office and professional image editing.

Lenovo L420 Monitor by external use. Matt is in favor of showing the contents of readability. It 'also possible to identify something on the screen in direct sunlight. However, slightly higher than the brightness of the screen would be nice.

Viewing angles, unfortunately we can not be convinced. When you look at the front of laptop, you can even stand in front of the screen with various people and see the perfect image. However, falsifies the picture quickly when the screen is tilted up or down.

Performance
Lenovo team small 14-inch laptop with a Core processor i5-2520m high. After all, the processor is up to 2520m high-end dual-core Intel. 2520m processor is a member of the family and enjoy Sandy Bridge and past some improvements over the previous generation.

The processor has a clock of 2.5 GHz 2520m by default. It is possible that, like most other processors Sandy Bridge, be overclocked in two stages. The clock is up to 3.0 GHz memory when the two processor cores are subjected to the load. The clock even increases up to 3.2 GHz single-core load.

Therefore, the processor can provide enough energy a little more in the case of performance bottlenecks - if the laptop manufacturer and is planned to provide adequate cooling. The performance of the 2520m is still more than enough for most demanding tasks like HD video editing.

Processor speed is also contrary to the interests of a few slower quad core clock, until only 1-2 cores loaded quad-core processors. Intel Core i5 2520m graphics card with the system immediately.

Intel HD 3000 Graphics Card is an embedded processor, and to ensure that the image is displayed on the Lenovo L420 monitor. Intel 3000 graphics card is certainly not the fastest graphics solution, but it can certainly compete with some entry-level cards like the Nvidia GeForce 310M.

Although Lenovo L420 is likely to be used only in odd cases, parents play games do not have a problem with the display driver. A few newer games can be displayed without problems in low resolutions and low details (FIFA 11, etc..) Graphics card is really designed for fairly basic tasks in the office.

Cinebench is another program used for CPU performance evaluation of Lenovo L420. Lenovo L420 achieve a score of 4750.0 points Cinebench R10 rendering a (64 bit). Thus, it can be more or less up to our reference table. However, the character is rather new compared to other laptops that use Intel Core i5-2520m.

Lenovo L420 does not seem good for the Toshiba Tecra R840-11E (2520m HD Graphics, 3000) with 5135.0 points. HWInfo64 reported at frequencies up to 3.2 GHz for a short period until the beginning of the test. After this had been reduced to 2.8 GHz, so that the turbo could not take full advantage here. This would also explain the moderate results of this test.

Lenovo ThinkPad L420 can recover some ground again in Cinebench R10 rendering multi (64bit) reference. This could leave the last place, and the difference of the highest rated with a laptop i5-shrunk 2520m course. The laptop now manages L420 ThinkPad 10540.0 points. The top rated mobile 2520m is the Dell Vostro 3550 (Vostro 0112) (2520m, 6630M HD) with 10797.0 points.

We noticed a couple of special conditions during testing. It seems Turbo Boost will not work properly when the laptop is used without the battery, so the AC mode. The markers above were all made with the battery and power supply. Lenovo ThinkPad L420 only reached 1323.0 points in Cinebench R10 rendering unique reference (formerly 4750.0 points) and 2915.0 points in the multi-rendering (formerly 10540.0 points) without a battery.

A significant loss in performance is noticed here. Interestingly, the performance loss is not in the reverse scenario. The new processor delivers the power that comes with the adapter and the battery in battery mode.

In comparison, the Lenovo L420 L412 predecessor (330M, Intel GMA) reached 1923.0 points in Cinebench R10 single supply (64 bit) and 6537.0 points in Cinebench R10 rendering multi (64 bits). The ThinkPad L420 is the undisputed winner and could almost double its performance.

The ThinkPad L420 reached 6601.0 points in our benchmark system, PCMark Vantage. Thus, it is in the top third of our reference table. It is a little more than laptops Lenovo ThinkPad E420 Edge (2410M, 6630M HD) with 6556.0 points.

Discussed in detail, note could be even better, but the hard drive slows things down a bit. If you want your system to deal with something special, you may consider replacing the hard drive to a faster model, or an SSD.

The problem with the battery is noticed here. In PCMark Vantage benchmark score falls 6601.0 2977.0 points to points, while only using the adapter and the battery is removed.

Not much can be expected from the Intel HD 3000 Graphics. Yet we dare to compare. We used the results of Benchmark 3D Mark 06 (1280x1024) as the base. Lenovo L420 ThinkPad notebook is now at the bottom of our benchmark chart with 2528.0 points. The L420 is again ThinkPad marker back.

He is currently the slowest laptop with an Intel graphics card HD 3000 graphics. The laptop next fastest Lenovo ThinkPad L520 NWB53GE (2310M, HD 3000 Graphics) with 2999.0 points. For comparison: one of the best laptops with Intel graphic cards HD 3000 graphics is currently the Packard Bell EasyNote TS11-HR-040UK (2410M, HD 3000 Graphics) with 4607.0 points.

There is a difference very clear. Lenovo ThinkPad L420 can also turn on its predecessor with the graphics card. While the ThinkPad L420 reached 2528.0 points in 3DMark06, the ThinkPad L412 (330M, Intel GMA) only managed 1312.0 points.

One possible reason could be, as Cinebench single-processor tests, only a partial reversal of a load of bandwidth as the Turbo 2520m graphics card device can also be overclocked dynamically.

Otherwise, the battery is a problem seen in other regions was not observed in the benchmark chart. No matter if with or without the battery, prices have remained in the same area.

A 2.5-inch model Western Digital hard drive is used as the Lenovo ThinkPad L420. The WDC WD3200BEVT-08A23T1 has a capacity (gross) of 320 GB and a rotational speed of 5400 rpm per minute. The hard drive can not convince given rates.

Average transfer rate of 70.2 MB / s is mediocre at best and even the maximum transfer rate of 89.1 MB / s is not satisfactory. In exchange, the access time of 18.9 milliseconds is acceptable. If you want to put your system properly, Would you rather start with a Lenovo ThinkPad hard drive is L420.

Dell Vostro V131 Notebook Review

Dell launched a thin line and mobile business in its range of entry level Vostro with V130. It is also supposed to convince in terms of design. Intel beach powerful bridge follow the first tests with ULV processors. Some changes were made also in the case. As its name suggests, the new Vostro V131 is an update of Dell Vostro V130. Slight modifications were made to the case and completely renovated inside.

Thanks to the latest processors Sandy Bridge, the Vostro V131 is now equal to 14 desktops and 15 inches in terms of performance. However, it also increases energy consumption, with Dell now wants to dominate with a 6 cell battery replaceable. It's a shame: it exceeds a little outside the box and lifts the handset on the back of a centimeter.

Specifications Dell Vostro V131 :

Case
Looking at the entire case, one can hardly find any appreciable change. A simple case depth is increased by 8 mm according to the glasses. But with the naked eye is not that really stands out. Dell says the laptop have a maximum height of 21 mm. It is not entirely correct, because the battery out for about 10 mm on the bottom of a laptop in this area.

This is not a significant effect when used on a table and bottom of the base may also be able to treat the waste without even better. However, you must get along with the arms bulging battery of the wireless network. Even if the base would be helpful.

Your V131 looks almost exactly like its predecessor. The concept of enclosing the metal parts will still be a high value recognition. But the V131 is not just your score for its look and feel, will also benefit the stability of surrounding metal parts. Just as the bottom cover and the base of the screen to face a highly selective pressure.

Warping can remain within the limits of both parties. However, a clear admit your loss, as the face of Apple MacBook Air, 13, who was also the seat back in time - and that even if the air is only half as thick as your.

The opening mechanism is substantially preserved. Thus, the hinges are installed behind the screen where the case is high. Thus, the display closest to the customer than they are with traditional solutions. Although the metal hinges to give a strong impression that they can not stop the screen quite heavily on the brink. It was a rather unpleasant trial, particularly when using an unstable surface, such as directly on your lap.

Finally, we would like to deal with the weight. The new V131 adds to your weight of 1850 grams of 6-cell battery, which is a standard configuration in Europe. Your V130 was then about 200 grams lighter than 1638 grams.

Once again we look beyond the horizon, for example, we see the Samsung 13-inch Premium 900X3A, £ 1.35, and the Apple MacBook Air 13 with 1.33 pounds of the best classes. Sony Vaio is pretty close to your SA2Z with 1.65 pounds. The first standard Dell Inspiron 3350 is not only thicker (up to 29 mm), it is also much heavier than the V131 with 2.19 pounds.

Connections
Dell has made a significant improvement in the interfaces. V130 three USB 2.0 ports have been replaced by two Super Speed USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port, which can supply power to external devices when the notebook is off. Your yet installed the VGA and HDMI video connections. There is no docking port.

There have been some changes in the agreement because of the battery port. With the exception of the takeover and Kensington slot, all ports were moved to the side edges and stay comfortably in the back region. This should keep the obstructions caused by the wires connected inside. Move the card reader from left to right and still no optical drive.

Exchange of information, your 131 has a LAN port (Realtek Gigabit Ethernet), wireless (Intel Wireless N1030), Bluetooth 3.0 + HS, and, if desired, even for mobile broadband Internet (Dell 5550). Integrated UMTS modem costs about $ 100 extra.

While the SIM card slot is still relevant easily accessible on the front of the Vostro V130, had to move to cool.

The Vostro V131 also offers a wide range of security features such as a company of input devices. The fingerprint reader included in the scope of products and services offered to name one example.

However, many of the security services of the available data (Trendmicro Worry Free, DataSafe Online Backup) and support services (up to three years of service with in-situ ProSupport next business day, the optional Accidental Damage Protection). In the three years of service rather than a difference of 160 euros net of the standard warranty of 12 months.

Display
The specifications of the screen set was maintained (13.3 inch, 1366x768 pixels, mat. But the ID screen of our test unit deviates from the V130 built-in display (AUO312C). For example, Dell installs new components here.

Unlike your V130, V131, unfortunately, your lost about 15% of its maximum brightness of 185 cd/m2 and the center of the screen. The new display is an average of 170 cd/m2. Lighting 82% is still good.

V130 was not a model, which has a contrast ratio up to 144:1. The V131 is not much better: 165:1 to black value of 1.12 cd/m2. These figures are also likely to be responsible for our only moderate overall subjective impression of the color reproduction. This is just a small problem with office tasks, but the media is suffering from a case.

Reproducible color space differs from the screen than its predecessor, but it plays basically the same series. sRGB is clearly unattainable, which is not bound to decline, with the exception of professional photo editing and graphics.

This applies as soon as you venture to the Vostro V131. You must accept a greater or lesser degree change and loss of brightness depending on the viewing angle on the screen and the position of the sun when the sun provides ambient light. Anti-reflective surface can effectively prevent the light from the field, but the brightness is not enough to provide a perfect outdoor use in any situation.

The screen installed could not impress us with respect to viewing angle stability, either. Work areas show very narrow, especially along the vertical plane of vision. Therefore, the angle of inclination must often be adjusted by mobile use. As usual, the screen is better on the horizontal plane. But the narrow viewing angles also cause increased loss of contrast here.

Performance
One of the most important points in the catalog to update the Vostro V131 is likely that the new hardware. ULV processors Arrandale after his predecessor, Vostro V130, the latest Intel sand range jumper is done in the new V131 - that is, regular 35W TDP chip.

The only remains are ULV Intel Celeron 847 CPU. It is clearly behind the choice of selecting a core clock of 1.1 GHz and turbo functions: i3-2310M (130 €) and i5-2410M (180 €).

Main memories are also moving faster on the new Vostro V131 with Sandy Bridge. The Vostro has a capacity of 8 GB of memory in two banks of the model (2x4096MB) DDR3 1333MHz. The basic configuration of 2 GB only in the online configurator is not far off, however.

You are well equipped with 4 GB (90 €) today. 8 GB makes sense for special applications (190 €). A brief description of current market prices for Module 4 GB of 1333 MHz (new) question the policy of additional Dell.

The corresponding components can be purchased for from (gross) 20 euros and simple even for inexperienced users, introduced by keeping the lid on the bottom of the unit.

Processor: Intel Core i5-2410M
Our test car was equipped with the strongest available to the V131 your CPU, Intel Core i5-2410M chip is classified as a mid-range processor, the Intel portfolio. However, it includes the most important and useful to the latest range of Sandy Bridge Hyper Threading and Turbo Boost 2.0. The basic CPU clock of 2.3 GHz, but not automatically clocked up to 2.9 GHz under load.

They alternately available i3-2310M processor is the gateway to Sandy Bridge range dual core standard. In addition to the basic clock lower than 2.1 GHz, particularly distinguished himself with his lack of turbo boost. You are better off with the chip i5 in high performance applications. But Intel Core i3 is sufficient for undemanding office use. You can find a comprehensive comparison of the new Intel dual core here.

Unfortunately, we have no solid comparative data on the Celeron 847. According to the model number of the chip, it is on par with the old Intel i3 330UM. This equates to loss of performance was higher than 50% compared to the Core, and I processors.

The test of Cinebench benchmark we executed for i5-2410M is in low-end laptop with a Core i5-2410M. This could be a sign that the CPU turbo not operated at its maximum. When we look at the clock in the CPU Cinebench R10 rendering test single-core, the frequency of both cores are typically 2.7 GHz. CPU does not perform several times its maximum clock of 2.9 GHz for a split second. Both cores were constant at 2.7 GHz for multi-core test.

We go to the application benchmarks. They evaluated our your V131 to test the system as a whole, including all components installed. We reach the composition of the excellent 7736 points PCMark Vantage, and moves well in the first third of all notebooks we've tested.

You'll find machines like the HP EliteBook 8460p is a powerful AMD processor i7 2610m and 6470M HD graphics (7734 points), or the Lenovo ThinkPad T420 also i7 Processor 2620m (7845 points) in the immediate vicinity. Dell V130 with an Intel 470UM managed only 3813 points in the test itself. So, V131 can more than double the performance of its reserves in its current configuration.

The last 7 PCMark 2359 Vostro V131 rewarded with good points and also starts at the front. In comparison: Toshiba Satellite 2936 R830 comes to points with the same processor, but installed the solid state drive (SSD) is compatible with a large amount in this case. Lenovo ThinkPad E320 Edge with i3-2310M processor accused clearly behind with 2009 points.

Western Digital hard drive WD5000BPKT installed in our unity gives us a taste of its performance with 4900 points in PCMark Vantage score. It is the current standard portfolio model V131 Vostro 7200 rpm. Dell no longer wish to use the models otherwise still normal 5400 rpm.

However, there are SSD faster to choose from. A 128 GB model is not identified can be selected for an extra € 220 instead of a hard disk 320GB/7200 rpm. More than 256 GB model is also expected to be available.

Back to our WD5000BPKT hard drive. Support data transfer rate reached an average of 88.9 good MB / s in the HDTune benchmark test. However, the access speed of 21.1 milliseconds remained very high, of course, below the level of a 7200 rpm hard drive.

Vostro V131 is not really suited for gaming with Intel Graphics HD 3000 graphics solution. However, one game at least equal in low and medium graphic details. More information about the games that work on the graphics card HD 3000 can be found in our Comparison of mobile graphics cards games.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E325-12972FG Notebook Review

Missing Values. 420 euros for a simple Lenovo ThinkPad E325 Edge offers a 13.3-inch subnotebook. The anti-glare screen is the battery life lasts up to nine hours, and the merger of AMD offers a smooth introduction of HD movies. However, most of the qualities of ThinkPad type, known as robustness, has received less attention.

"Even through, thin and light", this is how Lenovo is announcing its new models of 13.3 inches in size and ThinkPad E320 E325 edge. A review of the E320 model more powerful (Core i3-2310M) is already published in Notebookcheck few days ago. Unlike the edges Lenovo ThinkPad 320, E325 (1976FG) model tested by us is AMD Fusion. Within the subnotebook an AMD dual-core processor E-350 (2x 1.60 GHz) AMD Radeon HD 6310 integrated graphics unit is included.

For an affordable € 420 which comes with an anti-glare 13.3-inch (1366 x 768), and 2 GB of RAM DDR3 (1333 MHz). The hard disk is a slow process model with 320 GB Hitachi 5400 rpm speed of rotation. An optical drive is not included. Nor is there any USB 3.0 port update. The operating system is a pre-7 Premium Edition installed Windows (64 bit) Microsoft.

So far, the Edge Series models, among other things, good stability, have been able to make a good impression on us. How does the AMD-powered subnotebook will be able to explore the fair for the next revision.

Case
Our review model has a red display cover. The case is almost identical to the previous review models E320, E125 and X121e. Unfortunately, the subnotebook Edge has become worse in terms of duration, than the older ThinkPad models. The vessel can be easily folded. Palm rest area, compared to only a few bruises and a lot of pressure. However, the keyboard can easily be eroded in places though.

The same display can be easily folded. Even the display hinges will no longer be stable and allows the screen to wobble. The bottom plate is solid otherwise. Only three screws on a separate user access to the interior of the device. Lenovo ThinkPad E325 Edge certainly does not belong among the heaviest subnotebook with a weight of 1.7 kg.

Connections
The Lenovo ThinkPad ports E325 unfortunately is on the left and right sub-notebooks. Interfaces on the back and front are not provided. With this connection of multiple devices can lead to a lot of cables. Use an external mouse is difficult because there is little room and the cable is easily confused with other cables.

There is a wide range of interfaces. In total there are three versions available USB 2.0 ports, one of which is a combination of eSATA ports. Otherwise, it is also a separate microphone port is missing.

Communication
Compared to its brother, the E320, the device is considered a lack HSDPA module. The module is compatible with 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n. Atheros Gigabit Ethernet controller and Bluetooth are provided by Lenovo. It even supports the upgrade from version 3.0.

Security
From the subnotebook is aimed at business users, security is important. To do so, as always, there is a Kensington security lock available. The keyboard is slightly more resistant to water. However, a fingerprint reader is missing, it is not too much of a disappointment in that price range though.

Accessories
Accessories included delivery times are very limited. Only a user with the attached self-subnotebook.

Warranty
The standard warranty for the Lenovo ThinkPad E325 Edge lasts 12 months. The ThinkPlus warranty extension that increases by an additional 24 months. Depending on the type of warranty service, it costs about 55 euros (bring-in) or 85 euros (on site).

Display
The ThinkPad E325 has a 13.3-inch matte screen (LEN4090). The native resolution, as is usual for the screen, 1366 x 768 pixels. The display with a 16:9 aspect ratio has a relatively low contrast. This is a simple 162:1. The black level of 1.09 cd / m² is much higher.

The results of measuring the brightness of Mavo Gossen-Monitor is disappointing. On average, the brightness was measured only 174.6 cd / m². In some places, the maximum value of cd / m² 182 was measured in the upper right corner. Subnotebooks that are connected to the power supply or battery power makes no difference in this case.

We suspect that use of the ThinkPad E325 Edge on the outside, there will be lots of fun, despite the matte screen. At least, the distribution of brightness is balanced at 90 percent.

As usual, we also tested the angle of stability in a dark room. When you move the screen horizontally, change the image displayed within the limits of tolerance. When deviant vertical image reverse quickly. Given the very small display, the result is not entirely surprising.

Performance
Lenovo is based on the AMD merger of E-350 E325 Edge APU ThinkPad. This processor has two cores, and operates at a clock speed of 1.6 GHz AMD TDP Fusion APU E-350 with 1024 KB L2 cache is only 18 watts. The AMD chipset is included A50M FCH.

The APU is an abbreviation for Accelerated Processing Unit. This means that the processor and the graphics device is coupled. In the case of AMD Fusion E-350 APU is the AMD Radeon HD 6310 with 80 shaders. The graphics device supports DirectX 11 and video decoder UVD3 for HD video (MPEG-2, H.264, VC-1) by default.

Included as standard RAM is 2 GB of RAM DDR3 (PC3-10600). The hard drive is manufactured by Hitachi, and provides 320 GB capacity, with a rotation speed of 5400 rpm.

AMD Fusion processors are among the most powerful, but more likely to make a good impression, because the integrated graphics units. CPU performance has been tested by us Maxon Cinebench benchmark. In this case, the Lenovo ThinkPad E325 Edge score, as was expected, the lower area of the tip of the database.

With 2195 points subnotebook Results Cinebench R10 Multi (64-BT) are the benchmark for other handsets including the processor itself. Best value for money with the E-350 processor is the MSI Wind U270, which has scored 2250 points.

A similar picture emerges when it comes to Cinebench R11.5. In this case, the device also revised 0.6 points behind the CPU tests. This time, AMD also other portable score of 0.6 points.

Comparison, Lenovo E320 board with Intel i3-2310 m CPU can score 7398 points in the test itself, which is more than double what the revised model of AMD chips.

We analyze the system performance with PCMark Vantage and PCMark 7: Futuremark. Using the subnotebook PCMark Vantage Lenovo managed to score 2278 points, and are therefore the best equipment on the processor itself.

Only the model of ThinkPad x120e, including Lenovo, is better and can score 2600 points. 7 Using the PCMark Lenovo ThinkPad E325 Edge manages to score only 933 points. In this case, the other model, which is better than the ThinkPad x120e, which was placed in 1101 points.

Big Brother is compared with the E320 can score more than twice the amount of 2009 points. The AMD Radeon HD 6310 integrated graphics unit had to endure more Furmark 3DMark benchmarks. Use of this Lenovo ThinkPad E325 Edge managed to score 2048 points in 3DMark2006 a general. With this result the equipment under test is the best model with the AMD Radeon HD 6310, and is located in the center of our reference database.

Those who think the discipline in which the variant is badly beaten Intel. There i3-2310M processor and a HD 3000 integrated graphics unit is also able to highlight in this case a total of 3098 points.

A similar picture emerges with the 3DMark 11 benchmark. In this case, the unit also is considered the best in its class with 286 points. Here are the laptops with the Radeon HD 6250.

We tested the performance of the hard drive of the E325 Lenovo ThinkPad Edge with HD Tune. Hard drive subnotebooks manufactured by Hitachi. It has a storage capacity of 320 gigabytes, and a rotation speed of 5400 rpm. Thus, the average transfer rate is a meager 55.5 MB / s. SSD is not included in this price range, even if a hard drive at 7200 rpm would have been better.

Battery
The energy consumption of the E325 Lenovo ThinkPad Edge are in a good range. According to the power plan in use, it uses 5.9 Watts subnotebooks in standby mode (power saving, minimum brightness), and 8.6 watts (maximum performance, maximum brightness).

Under the maximum load on subnotebooks requires a maximum of 25.2 watts, which is twice as required by office use, but is still very low compared to other phones. To model the brother of comparison, 47.3 E320 watts under load, which is almost twice as much. Power consumption is surprisingly low in standby mode, and when it is turned off. These lies, just 0.1 watts (off), and 0.2 W (standby).

A subnotebooks to feature for mobile use, and should also have a decent battery capacity. In this case, the difference between the free state and under load for our revised unit is huge. Using the Battery Eater Readers test, we simulated the use of normal business.

According to what we have made possible the energy saving mode, disabled the WiFi, and selected the lowest brightness. Thank you to the low energy Lenovo ThinkPad E325 Edge lasted 9 hours and 57 minutes before the power cable must be connected.

Using an average brightness, and to allow the WLAN, we simulated surfing the Internet. In this scenario subnotebooks lasted 7 hours and 12 minutes. Load the battery has dropped significantly. Using the profile of maximum performance with maximum intensity, we used Battery Eater again using the conventional test. In this case, the battery still managed to keep a proud 3 hours and 17 minutes.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E320 Subnotebook Review

One step back. The 13.3-inch subnotebooks E320 stand for buyers with the force of a standard processor, a matte screen, good input devices, and seven hours of portable use. Robustness usual ThinkPad can not be invoked.

Many readers have been asking this week about the review of the ThinkPad Edge E320 with a Core i3-2310M. What makes the sub-portable 13.3-inch so attractive? Intel platform promises better performance than the alternative of AMD Fusion E325.

An anti-glare screen combined with a relatively high capacity battery (63Wh) and a UMTS module, could be the perfect mobile companion. The current price of 740 euros seems appropriate for the device.

Edge Series Lenovo promises classic features of the ThinkPad. Input devices for the job, the case of high stability and functional details so far always been present in the previous Edge. E320 board is different, though. Why do not we have always been made of excitation can be found in a full review.

Case
Edge E320 has an older brother, the edge of the E125 (AMD Fusion), and the sister of E325 (Fusion, at the time for review). Lenovo ThinkPad X121e also look at the (current audit) nudge closer to the edge devices, because the building and watch the platform are very similar and almost identical (X121e / E125).

In older models, the contrast edge 13 (Intel, AMD), was different from the beginning. This was more stable and gave a lasting impression. Review of E320, we unfortunately have to say, does not exceed the reliability of the subnotebook average consumer.

What we do not like is soft hinges of the screen connected (and not all metal), which allows the swing display. In addition to the chassis substantially flexible not have a good impression either. In these respects Edge 13 (K685) and Edge 11 (Intel, AMD) with metal hinges and a hard case was much better.

On the positive side however, is the feeling. The surface of the screen lid is rubber and feels much like satin. Fingerprints do not have a chance at a decent layer of gloss. The interior surfaces are adherent to plastic, but not rubber. The base plate of the chassis is made of metal and nowhere can be dented in attempts to dent the surface even in the palm rest, which is strong everywhere.

Top cover could be affected over a wider area (with a flat hand). Only by using a considerable amount of force we were able to affect the surface to the center to use your fingers to create changes on the screen. E320 can be easily upgrade RAM, hard disk or change the SSD. Complete the bottom plate can be removed for this purpose, removing only three screws.

Connectivity
When it comes to interfaces ThinkPad Edge E320 is identical to its predecessor, the Edge 13 Quick Links to eSATA external hard drives are possible, but not readily available USB 3.0 hard drives. Update the ports is not possible, because there's no ExpressCard slot on the appropriate interface cards (such as USB 3.0).

Ports on the back are useful for use on a desk as they leave space at the sides and also to avoid the hassles of cables and optical practices. In this case, there could be a cumbersome eSATA cable lying in the road blocking the right-handed mouse pad. A docking station that can avoid this problem is not available for the Edge series. This is the quality standard for ThinkPad (without border, L and T-series).

Communication
The E320 offers all the communication technologies that are currently possible in subnotebooks. First and foremost comes F5521GW Ericsson HSPA module for mobile Internet access. SIM card is inserted under the battery. WLAN module supports Draft-N standard, and a Gigabit Ethernet controller supports Ethernet. Bluetooth 3.0 + HS completes the package.

Internet telephony and video chats, E320 Edge is equipped with a camera with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (widescreen). Communications utility in a microphone can be optimized for one or more items (Conference). Microphone mute button (the top row of keys) is also available.

Security
Firm characteristics, such as a fingerprint reader, the Computrace theft protection, and the keyboard together a bit waterproof. At least there's an APS sensor (motion sensor for hard disk read heads parks, where surprise) and a Kensington security lock. ThinkVantage tools include security, power and system configuration. Backup and data recovery can also be accessed from the central tool.

Accessories
Media recovery is not included in delivery. In this case, users are forced to burn their own recovery DVD (ThinkVantage restore). Accessories include only one warranty card and a short user guide.

Warranty
Standard series onboard warranty lasts 12 months. ThinkPlus warranty extension will increase this to 3 years. Depending on the type of service, this package will cost about 55 euros (the bring-in), or 85 euros (on site).

Display
The non-reflective AUO panel display (type: B133XW03-V1) was not able to impress us. The resolution on a 16:9 screen is the standard form factor of 13.3 inches with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The low contrast 189:1, unfortunately. The colors are vibrant, and blacks have a gray tint.

The matt surface of the screen is not the reason for the low contrast level. A reflection type screen is optically enhanced by making the colors brighter, but the level of black (0.93 cd / m²) remain the same. The color space of the AUO screen is significantly smaller than sRGB (center image), which means you can not fully represent the colors of the spectrum.

The color space is still valid for professional image editing, so only costly exceptional 13.3-inch subnotebooks are better in this regard (900X3A Samsung, Vaio Z13Z9E). Even the often praised the IPS screen (very good viewing angles) in the ThinkPad X220 is a color space only slightly larger, and sRGB.

Anti-glare display, unfortunately, provides only a low brightness. On average, we measured 173 cd / m², but only the power cord connected. Most of our testers was measured brightness of 184 cd / m², in the upper left. As soon as you disconnect the power cord, E320 dim the brightness of 165 cd / m² (medium size).

Light for outdoor use scenarios, in line with the luminance of over 230 cd / m², it would be desirable. In this case, sun-lovers, however, have a look at a black screen, with or without a power cord plugged in, because the rays of the sun low in the backlighting of the trumpet.

Last but not least are the viewing angles. There should be no surprise that the viewing angles are very narrow, considering the weakness of the above features of the AUO panel display. Only up to about 45 degrees off center that could clearly recognize the colors, there is no effect on investment.

When the deviation above or below (vertical), the text of the display can read up to 50 degrees. The brightness is reduced, however, and about 20 degrees, and the colors change to the point that they can not be properly recognized.

Performance
Lenovo offers a 13.3-inch subnotebook i3-2310M Intel Core (2x 2.1 GHz). The dual-core CPU is not compatible with Turbo-Boost, but is compatible with Hyper-Threading (4 processing threads). The processor TDP is 35 watts.

This need for two groups of 25 watts. 10 watts are used by the integrated graphics solution from Intel HD 3000 and DDR3 memory controller. Under the components of energy charge, however, may increase beyond these values if.

There are 4096 MB DDR3 RAM onboard, where only one of two available slots are occupied (1 x 4096 MB). The hard drive is manufactured by Hitachi (HTS723232A7A364) and has a capacity of 320 GB with a rotational speed of 7200 rpm.

Those who want to buy a ThinkPad Edge will have to decide whether the combination of AMD or Intel the revised version must be purchased. The advantage of the merger: The Edge E325 is available from 420 euros. Is this the i3 Sandy Bridge processor much faster than the extra cost justified?

I3 2310 m can score more points than double (3446) is a single-core CPU Cinebench R10 64-bit 2.1GHz AMD with a benchmark like the E-350 APU with the 1.6 GHz (1125). More than 2520m Brother i5 Core (2.3 GHz), manages to score more points in 5050 (64 bit), thanks to the Turbo Boost.

When it comes to everyday use multi-threading, however, is more relevant than single-core load (Cinebench R10 64-bit). I3-2310 m manages to score 7398 points in the game. E-350 is about 70% slower with 2200 points.

It would be unfair to AMD Fusion the opportunity to just leave things much greater than the processing performance of Intel CPUs. APU Fusion is, above all, a graphics card powerful enough for a extra CPU. When using the HD 6310 graphics performance, the performance of the Fusion may be able to keep pace with the Intel version. Or maybe not?

We studied this system for the benchmark, which tests the performance of hardware support HDD, RAM and GPU, etc. PCMark Vantage benchmark determined by the score 5457 points. E-350 system with AMD only managed to score 2600 points (the ThinkPad X120e).

AMD precursor to the Edge 13 (K685) at least managed to score 3753 points. 7 PCMark benchmark was completed in 2009 with the E320 points. The merger has scored 1101 points in the system E-350 (ThinkPad X120e) far behind.

What emerges is that the "big" laptop with a Core i5-2520m (Turbo Boost) score between 5800 and 7700 points and 2100 points and 2300 with PCMark Vantage PCMark and 7, respectively. The E320 provides a standard small edge mobile performance, not a subnotebook wide performance down.

Summary: According to the criteria in the E320 system is much faster (53% and 45%, PCMark Vantage PCMark and 7) a merger-E-350 system. What will be felt by users is to copy and installation time. When making multiple installations and copying tasks, Fusion APU acceptable react quickly. But the crown performance clearly won by the i3-2310M in this case. Thank you to a fast hard drive Fusion is only able to compensate for this limited extent.

3DMark2006 reference, to determine suitability for the game in terms of 3098 points. Intel HD 2010 generation (also integrated in CPU), an average of only manages to score 1500 points (depending on the CPU + / - 200 points). Game is possible within the Intel HD 3000 Dedicated to the entry level GPU, the Radeon HD 6470M is only 3% faster (3DMark2006), the driver is, however, the best games.

ATI Radeon HD 6310 HD graphics is clearly winning the 3000 E320 with 1980 points (3DMark2006). This would make the HD 3000 seems exaggerated interest, however, because the processing performance of pure HD 6310 GPU and Intel is more or less the same: R11.5 Cinebench OpenGL test performance seems well shader: 6310 HD 8.09 points; 3000 HD 7.3 points.

When it comes to mass storage device Lenovo has chosen a Hitachi hard drive with a capacity of 320 GB. The HD Tune and Crystal Disk Mark 3.0 benchmark results for 7200 rpm HDD is above average, as confirmed by PCMark Vantage HDD score 4148th flow of sequential read is 79 MB / s.

Crystal Disk Mark income measures more complete, including the transfer speed when reading / writing small and large data packets (click on the tab.) What stands out are the small numbers for reading and scattered write packets 4K (0.4 / 0.8 MB / s).

This result is typical of the slow rotation of the disk read / write heads have to reach a mechanical position. This can be improved with a SSD, which is provided by Lenovo SSD version (128 GB; 685D090).

Toshiba Satellite P770-10P Notebook Review

Satellite Hybrid. Two hard drives, a quad-core and graphics without choking game. Will low-contrast panel and ergonomic data not fade hope multimedia?

The satellite's high-end Toshiba is apparently difficult to find its way into the virtual shelves. Only a current distributor list it - but without the immediate availability. However, technical specifications does not seem so bad.

Core i7 2630QM (4x 2.00GHz), Intel's mainstream quad-core, and is used in many multimedia and gaming laptops. Just like NVIDIA GeForce 540M, which is only a mid-range graphics game for fans of the game, though.

Friends of large collections of films will be satisfied in the case of two hard drives (2 x 500 GB). Seagate Momentus XT has a cache of 4 GB SSD (SLC NAND). Therefore, it is a hybrid hard drives.

The package is supposed to be a market price of € 999 (P770-108 version: 899 euros). The 17-inch model has some advantages to offer due to the same CPU + GPU hardware is available now for 700 euros (for example Samsung RC730). Find out the value Satellite P770-10P has to offer in our full review.

Case
In terms of looks, Satellite P770-10P Laptop radiates the charm of the new plastic that does not want to recognize the plastic at all costs. So the user's eye is bombarded with light effects (the keys of the pad, logos, Media Bar, Power), and Chrome too scared displays (speakers, key pads, hinges).

Packing a box you are looking for artists, the trick has been carefully surfaces. When his sister model, the Satellite Pro L770, it is called frills Matt, opaque surfaces, the surfaces of P770 has been sanded and polished texture of the blind.

This does not seem to hide the plastic, but at least the plastic feel. However, the production has its advantages: Fingerprints will disappear and the texture feels very non-slip surface.

Overall, the case is good but not good pressure stability. Wrist support provides the extreme right and left, under the weight of your hands. The optical drive is, as often a weak point. Although the keypad above can not be depressed, the base plate below can.

Two hinges hold the lid tight. There is no blockade. Screen wobbles heavy manipulation. Maximum angle of 140 degrees is ideal for use on knees. Cover the surface can be printed over a large area, but only a few millimeters.

Display
Panel reflections of 17.3 inches can meet the high expectations with its brightness possible. Everything else is rock bottom screen phones. Screen (B173RW01 V3 AUO) has a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels (WXGA + +, 4:09 p.m.). You can work well with this decision, if you do not need the best possible resolution of the screen.

AUO panel has a 212:1 contrast ratio low. Loans Glare-type low visible contrast. This creates a visually crisp color printing. The colors are so attractive right too much time images, movies or games. However, Black is deep black and colors are not as bright as they could be.

AUO screen is not suited to professionals because the color spectrum does not even cover the sRGB (t). The FHD Monitor Fujitsu NH751 screen shows that even consumers at the same price range can offer more (close to sRGB, high contrast, good viewing angle).

Brightness measurements show acceptable results. Luminance is 216 cd/m2, on average. Gossen Mayo Monitor to measure up to 220 cd/m2, selectively. Lighting is a 95 per cent of the exceptionally smooth. No lights appear on the screen completely black.

100 to 150 cd/m2 enough inside. Does the brightness of bonus will be enough to work in broad daylight, despite the brilliance of type? No, because the thought of preventing a noise-free image in most viewing angles. Our photos were taken in bright sunlight and the maximum brightness TFT. We must note that P770 decreases to 188 cd/m2 brightness in battery mode (measured at the center).

We can vary from a maximum of 50 degrees horizontally from the front. The colors, then begins to forge a more or less serious. The script can be read from up to 70 degrees without any problems. The colors begin to distort, but 10 degrees vertically. Blurs the image and the colors reversed.

This may already be looking at the images of torture, or two or three films. Spectators must put their heads together. These visual problems are, unfortunately, a common phenomenon in 80 percent of our test laptops. This is a very negative qualities of costly media devices.

Performance
4x2.0 GHz Core i7 2630QM (default) has often been used in many laptop models from 2011. And 'latest quad-core mainstream that is already available for devices from 700 euros. Overclock up to 2.9 GHz is possible via the Turbo Boost 2.0 if (single core). See data sheet for details of the CPU.

Included in the HD 3000 graphics ensures economical use of battery power or the performance of the GPU is not needed. NVIDIA GeForce GT 540 (2048 MB) automatically disables the Nvidia Optimus. BIOS has many options that allow / devices (LAN, webcam, touchpad, key lights, illuminated Satellite logo) and Power Management.

Technology lovers will be able to remove up to quad-core multi-core CPU or a turbo boost. It is not advisable, because the power consumption to a minimum is very low in the default.

Where is 2630QM compared to other similar processors in laptops? The Cinebench R11.5 (multi, 64-bit) is on site, which is 4.7 points, the average test equipment 2630QM. 2630QM the "same" Aspire 7750G i7 could score improvement of 5.0 points, which may be due to better utilization of dynamic frequency (2.0 Turbo).

Representation functions and conversion are a good job for the processor. Advanced users are well catered for, especially since a heavy load operation does not cause thermal limiting and turbo. Turbo is still active when the GPU was put under the highest load (Furmark). Please see the temperature and the screenshots below.

PCMark Vantage point 6963 determines the (first round, 6752) is a score slightly below average for this CPU + GPU combination. The Sony Vaio PCV-F22S1E / B has recently come to 7488 points (also 7200 rpm HDD). Aspire 7750G with a single processor handles 7402 points (HP 6850M).

Packard Bell EasyNote Only Samsung TS11-HR and RF511-158GE are defeated with 6,500 points, which is due to the hard drive 5400 rpm and perhaps less than a 2.0 Turbo exploitation. Both phones are on par with our Cinebench R11.5 tester: 4.7 points.

The laptops are equipped with solid state, such as Alienware M17x R3 (GTX 460M, i7 2630QM) or XMG A701 (same), to obtain significantly better results (12700/14000). The hybrid hard drives, Momentus XT, can not provide this. See Hard Disk.

We made the PCMark 7, which ends with a score of 2688 points unusually high (first: 2496). Slot Machine, MSI GT780R with GTX 560M, recently reached the same score (2516 points, with RAID0 2x5400 rpm). PCMark 7 recognizes the hybrid hard drive, you see the repeated execution of Test System Storage: 2068, 2419, 2479, 2528, 2576, 2494, 2597, 2613. Score will go up! Reason: a hybrid hard disk to learn.

3D performance is GeForce 540M (2048 MB DDR3) remains normal in spite of a higher level of memory (usually in MBS 1024). At 672/900 MHz (core / memory) corresponds to the standard information.

3DMark 2006 (1280x1024) ended with 8212 points. A current HD 6770M (10786) for HP Pavilion dv6-6008eg easily beat him. The 3DMark Vantage score: P4386 is exactly at the level where the majority of BT 540S was. The same goes for 3DMark 11 (P1009), which is associated with a 6630M HD (Sony Vaio PCV-SA2Z9E / B).

Toshiba P770-10P team with two hard drives. They are connected through a controller RAID (performance or redundancy). The Hybrid Hard Drive Seagate Momentus XT (ST95005620AS, 500 GB) at 7200 rpm makes two interesting solution. It has a 4 GB cache unusually large SSD (SLC NAND), which is fed continuously with the frequently used data and files on your own through the "adaptive memory" technology.

This means that opening programs or files of the window is accelerated because the files are automatically transferred frequently read flash part. Because what happens in the hardware side, you should not and need not worry about what files are moved to the small flash memory. Therefore, technology is platform independent and could also accelerate Linux. Important: We are only talking about files that are repeated reading.

In addition, a slow MK5076GSXN Toshiba (500 GB, 5400) is installed. We have not yet completed their rates in our database. HDTune (61 instead of 85 MB / s) is much smaller than the Momentus hard drive XT system.

The advantages of application performance from the hybrid hard drive learning with a score of 6617 PCMark Vantage HDD points, respectively in 2613 points in the PCMark tests memory 7. The faster 7200 rpm hard drive in our test 5030 points (PCMark Vantage, without RAID0-LG658EA ProBook 6560b).

Compare rates: Two Momentus XT (not RAID 0) to work within the G73SM Asus, which increases the score of 8096 points. A Momentus XT is enough for 8046 points in the Eurocom Racer. This is a RAID 0 consisting of 2 x 7,200 rpm, which takes only 5193 points in the MSI GT663R.

On the other hand, is the fact that the SSD Pro, with Intel 320 Series SSDSA2CW160G3 (160 GB) in Schenker XMG A501, get 39 530 points. Even a simple consumer SSD in the Acer Aspire 4820TG (Intel X25-M, 160 GBS), controls the 20,196 points. In short: hybrid hard drive is an advantage but not a great success in the comparison SSD.

Lenovo ThinkPad X220T 4298-2YG Notebook Review

Success ThinkPad X220 range continues the tradition of their predecessors, and is also a convertible model to the new version. X220t, with a rotating display with digitizer and touch screen, to show its properties in the next revision.

Convertibles are a mix of laptop and tablet and try to combine the advantages of both in one device. The range of various models of affordable network pourable (netbooks), for example, Dell Inspiron Duo, most consumer devices, such as HP TouchSmart TM2, to expensive commercial models.

In particular, high-performance, wide range of interfaces, long battery life, flexible options for input and high-end displays are the key qualities expected of a device in the business class. The Lenovo ThinkPad X220t a member of this guild and the typical faces of their opponents, as EliteBook 2760p HP, Dell Latitude is XT3 or Fujitsu Lifebook T901.

While HP and Dell models are not yet available, Fujitsu and Lenovo will provide at least limited. The ThinkPad is built in different configurations with the dealers and starts just under 1000 euros. The entrance fee is much higher in the Lenovo online store. You should expect around 1300 euros for an Intel Core i3 skinned and configuration.

As always, Lenovo still carry very attractive special models for the beneficiaries of the education sector. Our test unit is equipped with an Intel Core i7-2620m, a 320 GB hard drive, multi-touch display, 4GB of RAM and a 6-cell battery. Price is currently not fully € 1700.

Case
ThinkPad X220 Tablet to the base station to remind X220 a large extent. E ', however, significantly larger than the size 303 mm x 255 mm (including battery). Then again, the details of the differences are so insignificant compared to the model's sister. Tablet typical central hinge construction is the most obvious.

It allows you to set the screen with a rotating base. This also leads to a particular design of the battery and makes the batteries in conflict with the X220 models. Stability central swivel hinge makes a good impression and seems to be better than the HP EliteBook 2740p implemented.

In return, the screen is a bit more open 'out of line that protrudes from the back of the screen to stop the battery space of the battery open. Thus, it can scratch the display is rotated horizontally compressed position several times and I'm really good. So, be sure to raise the screen a bit 'when turning.

Otherwise, the screen has the same diagonal of 12.5 "as the X220. But it came out a little different and a little more integrated controls on the bottom. Therefore, the surface of the screen appears to be slightly lower with respect to the seat and does not look as sleek and svelte as a competitor, HP 2740p.

In terms of weight, convertibles are usually not as light as subnotebooks matching their territory. The test device of 1920 g who weighed almost 400 grams more than the X220. It 'a lot. Processor, at least not always going to carry around. The battery may take a little 'working hours.

The touchpad closes flush with the front edge and it is not established in the slope as X220. There is a storage compartment for the stylus slot between the hard drive and a Kensington lock preparation. The clicks of the stylus on a spring mechanism with a smooth click. You will also find the red "ThinkPad" button in accordance with the design.

Stability case is basically very good, but suffers in the area ExpressCard slot and the light touch palm rest, both X220. The battery does not fit as tight as the X220 because of the design. The base is very stable and the openings are readily accessible. The lack of rubber feet on the right side of the bottom is very bad, however. Thus, the unit wobbles without a battery.

Display
As already mentioned, the ThinkPad X220t available with two different monitors IPS. Both have a resolution of 1366x768 pixels and therefore a point density of 125 dpi, and an LED backlight, which apparently offers a brightness of 300 cd/m2 (300 nits). Gorilla glass is available for an extra display is described as an open-air without support multi-touch. In return, it is particularly resistant surface is supposed to impress. According to Lenovo, see the current open-air has a higher brightness of 400 cd/m2, like previous ThinkPad 201T, longer.

Our test unit is the basic version with multi-touch support. Although it is anti-glare screen, makes the impression of somewhere between Matt and shiny look. Depending on the lighting situation, you can see the vague outlines, which are not as annoying as the screen displays with the smooth. There is no evidence of problems inside, but you can always count on an ergonomic 140-160 cd/m2 brightness, and without hesitation.

Vague reflections could be annoying. Since the LED provides a brightness 256 cd/m2 and 244 cd/m2 and the maximum mid-level, image overlays can be eclipsed well. However, we can confirm that 300 cd/m2 Lenovo promises.

Homogeneous illumination of the displays approximately 91% is very good. With regard to the levels measured, the brightness decreases slightly towards the bottom of the screen. But that fact is not visible, even in black and white content.

Because of the scanner bed, the screen surface has a slightly grainy texture, in addition to quality semi-gloss. It does not provide quite as clear a representation that the X220 IPS screen when viewed up close. You can also see a dot matrix, when held against the light in an off mode. But more or less all the screens of this type had this effect and have a side effect of additional input options.

The LED backlighting can not defy the outside of direct sunlight, but the content can still see them in a satisfactory manner when the seat position is selected. They are also covered by the diffuse reflections. The maximum brightness is also available in battery mode. 883:1 contrast ratio also has a good positive impact on the readability of texts and websites.

Black, saturated colors and are really like the X220 screen IPS provides a good representation of images and video. In exchange, the spectrum of color is only on the level of a laptop usually around 70% of the sRGB color space.

Viewing angle stability is a very high level, because of the display provided IPS. Colors and contents remain very stable laptop, and scholarships for good, even if the recognition and the quality of reproduction in all directions. Just brightness varies the viewing angle. Differences between horizontal and vertical image is not detectable subjectively. Thus, a very good ability to use the tablet.

Performance
The performance of the test pattern is more or less based on the X220. The range of Sandy Bridge Intel Core i3 i5 Core i7 in place (dual core only) is also used here. Our test model is based on the QM67 chipset and is equipped with a Core i7-2620m (4 MB L3 cache), including two key players and main Turbo Boost Hyper Threading. The default clock frequency of 2.7 GHz to 3.4 GHz may increase in wire applications and can handle multi-threaded tasks with up to four threads simultaneously.

The Intel integrated graphics HD 3000 is responsible for the video industry. It also has a dynamic clock frequency (650-1300 MHz). Their effectiveness is not negligible according to the configuration of the RAM. 4 GB of RAM is divided into two slots in our test unit and can operate in dual channel mode.

See the review of the ThinkPad X220. We tested the graphics performance with different memory configurations. The use of 2x2GB of RAM has a problem upgrading users eager to know the existing bars were exchanged.

X220 is the answer to the entire test. In addition to the normal reference classifications, such as PCMark Vantage (8153 points) and Cinebench R11.5 (10.94 and 3.11 points), we also implemented a series of short tasks to convert. Badaboom reach 114 fps at standard resolution (Intel Quick Sync), we test for the film and iTunes to convert our MP3 song with 45.6 times the speed of the AAC format.

You can not say because technically stronger than the Core i7 CPU 2620m (131 fps), works a bit 'slower than the test environment as a Core i5 (150 fps) in the CPU with pure converting the X220 is Badaboom.

We explained X220 is to throttle problem in depth, and it is again in the convertible version. The adapter 65 watts can not always generate enough force to maximum load scenarios and performance of the CPU is throttled automatically. But we were unable to determine bottleneck anything when converting to a real situation, it was only possible in the benchmarks. For example, the constant of 3.2 GHz registered Badaboom (CPU conversion time of 23 min).

Like the X220, the CPU clock is limited to 800 MHz with 65 watts of power is connected without the battery. CPU Cinebench R11.5 points to obtain a low 0.76 and iTunes to convert only 10.9 times the speed. 90-watt adapter will help to restore full capacity, but does not change the battery when not flaky. It would be best to take care of battery life, use the Energy Manager, Battery Management (download limit), or buy a second battery in a smaller capacity, but not so great.

The 320 GB Seagate hard drive installed in the test model runs significantly faster than the alternative of Hitachi, which we did in X220. It belongs to the fastest conventional portable hard as we have ever encountered in laptops, with a maximum of 107 MB / s and an average of 85 MB / s.

More memory capacity of 320 GB is not currently possible on the hard drives because the hard drive models with a height of 7 mm can be used. It also limits the choice of SSD, working mainly in the silence of a thing and could also provide an additional performance increase for another.

Even 600 GB SSD would be possible with the 320 Intel currently around 900 euros. In addition to the mass memory installed, you can also use the slot for SSD MSAT MSAT. However, while excluding the use of an internal modem UMTS as it is only one slot.

Apple MacBook Air 13 Notebook Review

After updating the case of air in the fall of last year, we now see completely new internal hardware based on Intel sand bridge. The extremely thin aluminum chassis is unchanged, still sets the standard for attractiveness, overall feel and thinness.

When 2010-MacBook Air was introduced, Apple has been bombarded with criticism for sticking with out-of-date technology, Intel Core 2 Duo (ULV), while the new Intel Core processors are already available. Instead, Apple has built on the GeForce 320M at the time a relatively powerful graphics card.

It is always a dual-core ULV CPU is used, but the MacBook Air is available with two new Intel ® Core ™ portfolio, which should provide a significant increase in processor performance. It's a different story, however, when it comes to graphics solution. Nvidia Geforce 320M was discharged and replaced by Intel HD 3000 graphics, integrated into the processor.

We are interested in what the new platform to improve performance, and can really be a step back in graphics. You can still use an Intel Turbo powers in full effect in this case, the Slimline, especially since Apple is always a great effort to keep the system from a minimum of noise?

Connections
DisplayPort Goodbye, Hello Ray. Although not as accurate for the function of the beam was introduced into the same port Mini DisplayPort. And that's really the only significant change in the area of connectivity.

What is lightning? It is a universal port that was originally developed by Intel and Apple in "Light Peak", the codename. As the name indicates the code was based on the original transfer of the optical data. For cost reasons, however, fell back on traditional copper wiring for the moment.

Despite this, Ray is expected to exceed the speed of USB 2.0 transfer may be present in a certain way (10 Gbit / s), allowing you to use as a connection for appliances, high-resolution image reproduction .

However, looking at the details, the user-centric performance to catch up with certain limitations to this system in the MacBook Air. The air has less control of the beam, they can not even match the current MacBook Pro in terms of transfer rates up (two bi-directional 10 Gbit DisplayPort channels and four against and two 10 Gbit DisplayPort).

A small problem with the whole exciting story: there is a distinct lack of compatible devices, the new port Thunderbolt. Apple does not offer its own 27-inch Thunderbolt-compatible, but this is not exactly what you want to call cheap, about $ 900 on average, although it also acts as a docking station, when access to air a series of other ports. You can expect more options available (such as external storage devices, Sonnet FireWire or LAN), but very little is currently available.

Aside from the Intel integrated graphics HD 3000 is only able to control an external monitor option. So, which imposes certain constraints on you, both as a work space multi-screen is affected.

Display
While the basic instructions given in this exhibition do not seem to show no change (LED 13.3 "1440 x 900, 16:10, shiny), it is worthwhile to look behind the scenes. The type of the selected panel LP133WP1-TJA3 ( LG Philips) seem to differ only slightly used its predecessor that we reviewed (* A01).

But Apple would not be Apple if the air flow has not been involved in a series of intensive discussions, inter alia, what evidence was used. According to reports from users, Apple has used two different panel of the current model. One of these is LP133WP1, which is what we must look to the model, but the other, which manifests itself in numerous models have LTH133BT01A03 Samsung. MacBook Air 2010 previously tested for us to use the Samsung panel, even if the previous version (A01), which differs from LG Philips' new panel, a slightly better result of measurement.

We measured a maximum brightness of 322 cd display area / m² in the heart of our review model (LP133WP1-TJA3), while the average brightness is a good m² 277 cd /. Overall, these results are respectable, but compared to the screen in the previous model with identical specifications, the screen is a little (max 333 cd / m², an average of 306.8 cd / m²).

The display also lost a little face when he reached the maximum contrast. Do not worry - 575:1 on the screen of our review model remains one of the best in its class, but is a bit behind its predecessor (640:1), in this sense.

It's time to take a look at the color space of the screen can reproduce, it was particularly strong in the previous model, which was average in this regard. The comparison of color spaces that shows the current LG panel is almost exactly on par with Samsung's predecessor. As before, sRGB is largely unprecedented, the poster series is still very MacBook Pro ahead.

When it comes to outdoor use, not much has changed. MacBook Air is still offering good brightness and excellent image contrast, but again, the surface of the glossy screen produces annoying reflections when the light falls on its quality, viewing angles or in certain (albeit slightly with anti- reflex that produces a purple-colored reflections).

The range of angles in our review model is slightly better than the average for modern laptops. Horizontally, you can probably cope with even greater differences from the front on the perfect perspective, and this in turn reflections on the screen, rather than reversing the image, it will come in the first way. For the range of vertical angles, the screen displays small changes in the image, and you expect a darkening or bleaching of the screen.

To what extent the two display types were used for this model is different in terms of angles could be determined by direct comparison side by side. But when the display type can be read on the system itself, and since no systematic approach has not yet been identified as the distribution of the different panels, the display allows you to get at least one question chance.

Performance
As we mentioned at the beginning, the biggest change is the MacBook Air compared to its predecessor took place inside the machine. As of now, Apple has the latest Intel Core processors, the i-line. Provides information, an i5 Intel CPU 1.7 GHz 2557M 13-inch air (as used in our review model), with the option 2677M 1.8 GHz Core i7 base rate.

They are super low-voltage processors with a core clock speed and power of relatively low thermal design power (TDP) of 17 W. For comparison: the lowest of the latest Intel dual-core standard range, the i3-2310M has a clock speed of 2100 MHz, but with a TDP of 35 W.

However, due to the Turbo Boost function, the i5-2557M can reach speeds up to 2.7 GHz, a single core is used. If both cores are needed when the maximum speed is 2.4 GHz ULV While technology can approach the performance of entry-level processors in the standard range, and consume far less power.

The beach architecture bridge contains an Intel graphics solution called HD 3000 Graphics, which is integrated directly into the processing unit. But here the UBV system loses, because the graphics unit is somewhat limited compared to their counterparts 35 W, with a rate base of only 350 MHz (650 MHz 35 W) and up to 1200 MHz with Turbo Boost Technology ( 1100-1300).

CPU Performance
To classify definitively the power of the new Intel Core i5-2557M processor, shot a series of benchmarks, most of which are undoubtedly based on Windows. Thanks to Boot Camp, however, run Windows on an Intel Mac is not a problem, and Apple, drivers for Windows AO, now fits nicely, easy to jump to the side.

In reference superPi tested (32 M), 2557M CPU needed 763 seconds to calculate Pi to 32 million decimal places. A look at the database shows dozens of notebooks with Intel, the latest generation of AOS 2410M i5 midrange processors in the immediate vicinity of this result. (For comparison: C2D SL9400: 1480 / 2, 50%).

WPrime multi-threaded benchmark tests (2.x) 2557M CPU reaches 764.6 seconds, compared to when it is due to the same level as the i3-2310 m CPU. Intel, the AOS i5-2410M is an average of almost 25% faster in this test. Air predecessor SL9400 processor needs to 1379.9 seconds for this test, which means that it takes about twice as long as the current CPU 2557M.

In Cinebench R10 benchmark that Maxxon (1 x CPU, 64 bits) 2557M i5-CPU score 4201 points. With this result the back of the main processor packaging i5 2410M (4450-4560 points).

To compare: Intel CPU AOS SL9600 (SL9400 is a precursor of the MacBook Air) Score 2726 points in the test itself (Thinkpad X200t), which leads to approximately 54% of the CPU 2557M.

With 8266 points in the film R10 multi-threaded test, the CPU 3557M rows at the same level as the previous Arrandale i5-460M. It is capable of overcoming the CPU 2310M quite some way (from 7200-7600), but the Core i5-2410M is still a long way to go with 9300-9800 points.

Our final reference point of R11.5 CPU Cinebench benchmarks, which led to 2.3 points. This corresponds to an i5 520 and 460M Arrandale processors. 2.5 to 2.6 points can 2410M CPU, Intel, the Apostleship of the Sea, 2310 m i3 score about 2.0 points.

Intel Core 2 Duo SL9400 CPU in the MacBook Air in 2010 were put on 1.1 points, so this test can not be said also that the performance of the processor is twice as good.

Strangulation
With the Turbo Boost, Intel CPU Sandy Bridge is perfectly able to cope with peak demand in the short, so make the best use of the cooling system. But how does this work in an ultra-thin machine that puts the low end sound system on top of your priority list? The first Apple MacBook Sandy Bridge processors has been criticized as limiting terms.

In order to examine the latest issue of Air, we turned once again a combination of BootCamp Windows and MacOS. Of course, the majority of airport users are understandably not in Windows, but it gives us the opportunity to use a wide range of testing tools, which provide detailed information on temperature, CPU speed, and fan behavior, but unfortunately is not available for MacOS.

If you remember, the Intel Core i5-2557M used here is defined as having a speed of 1.7 GHz Core and a range of up to 2.7 GHz Turbo. The use of the monitor and Intel Turbo Boost HWInfo64 during normal use of Windows, has been observed above 2.4 GHz, with gusts of up to 2.7 GHz, in other words, he fell just within specification. They were not able to read the clock speed in the operating system due to lack of appropriate tools (MSR tool did not work).

1x in Cinebench R10 rendering test processor (64 bits), there were 4338 points with the clock speed remains between 2399 and 2655 MHz (depending hwinfo).

Our set of benchmarks for the provision of multi-core test is interesting in the first run through we have achieved a score of 7844 points, and the CPU speed is 2399 MHz for the most part, but the final test was read a speed reduction to 1699 and then a choke to 799 MHz core temperature was around 99 ° C according to HWMonitor, ie high temperature limit of the CPU (TJ Max). The fan relatively late accelerated around 95 ° C, until then run at least 2000 rpm.

Immediately thereafter, began to turn the other tests at the same point of reference: 8076 points, 8624 and 8617 were the results. The fan has obtained more quickly and on the last two spinning stayed at the maximum 6500 rpm, from beginning to end. The result of strangulation and not produced in the past two cables, and the CPU speed was kept constant at 2399 MHz with the CPU temperature to 94-97 ° C by hwinfo.

In Cinebench R10 OpenGL benchmark, we found a very similar way. We started in 4770 and then the points scored in a row 5023, 5056 and 5001 points. So this is a problem in Windows, or a more general phenomenon that also occurs under MacOS? We first carried out in Cinebench R10 MacOS, and looked at the internal temperature and fan speed (iStatMenus).

We started with 1 CPU makes a test temperature of 50/52 ° C. About 96 ° C, the fan that comes with MacOS X Test score: 3621 points. We immediately followed this second session, the fan was already running when the temperature is kept below 93 ° C. Result: 3645 points. We are forced to fan up to maximum speed (smcFanControl) and ran the test again: this time, 3634 points.

So we also test multi-core while running MacOS. From cold, the first result was 7679 points, with temperatures climbing as high as 98 ° C. The next time through we were given the number 2 result: 7477 points, with temperatures remaining more or less at 98 ° C (depending iStatMenus), and the fan speed is constantly increasing. Result 3: 7666 points; result 4: 7703 points 5 and results: 7715th

We manually the fan speed to max, and once again began benchmarking: points 7741, 7747 and 7709. These results are about 3.6% more than the exercise "critical" second. The CPU temperature did not exceed 86-88 ° C. This

In Cinebench R11.5, which is also a burden on all the issues of CPU, measuring 2.1 points in the first run through Windows. In this short period there is a limitation to 799 MHz according to HWInfo64 (temperature of 99 ° C). The test phase immediately after clearly showed less throttle and gave it a score of 2.2 points. We tried again with the fan on maximum 2.25 points, and a temperature not exceeding 85 ° C.

Running MacOS, the temperature in the first period quickly hit the point 99 ° C, and only when the fan starts. Result # 1: 2.13 points. We tried again with a fan: 2.26 points, and the CPU temperature below 91 ° C. In the OpenGL test, similar behavior was observed in both Windows and MacOS.

3D performance
In 3DMark 2006 tests, our review model scored 3808 points in the standard resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels. Intel HD 3000 graphics processor units based on the score reaches normal speed between 3000 and 5000 points in that event, depending on the model of laptop. Due to the Turbo, which is also present in the printing unit, the result depends on the cooling capacity of the machine of each review, among other things.

CPU performance also plays an important role in the 3DMark 2006 test. Systems with Intel 2310M CPU is spread around 3000-3500 points, while i5-2410M systems with Intel HD 3000 Graphics solution generally fall in the region between 3500 and 4500 points. In this regard, i5-2557M ULV processor with its somewhat limited integrated graphics certainly do a good job to keep position as a mid-ranking here.

Fears of a decline in performance than the GeForce 320M be legitimate: Apple MacBook Air 13 in 2010 were placed in 4222 refers to the benchmark itself, which is 11% more, even if the SL9400 ULV processor is only about half i5 powerful as the new CPU, the tests we did. 11-inch MacBook Air 2010 SU9400 CPU score 3824 points in the test itself, which is practically the same level as the new 13-inch machine.

In the most up-to-date of 3DMark Vantage, the performance of the processor is in the background, while a pure performance graphics are highlighted. With 1712 points, a new 13-inch Air goes bare 11-inch Air 2010 (1694), but Apple MacBook Air 13 in 2010 is slightly below the 1836 points, but the benefit was reduced to only 7%.

We examined a number of other systems running the same level, is equipped with an Intel 2410M, 2520m and 2620m-up processors. In practice, it is not really possible to distinguish significant differences in performance between the processor ULV and the ordinary.
